KLCI is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to expanding Korean culture to the world through innovative teaching methods and cultural activities.
The only Korean School located in New York City, and one of the oldest in the tri-state area, KLCI has embarked on a mission to take a part in the global wave of the twenty-first century.
From pre-school to advanced classes, thirteen different classes are offered at KLCI. The different levels engage in activities that emphasize age-appropriate speech, listening, and writing. Learning is organized in terms of concrete experiences; visuals, props, and hands-on activities are integral components of our curriculum. Culture is taught through providing the setting so that students may experience and practice traditional Korean arts through classes in traditional music and dance, martial arts (Tae Kwon Do), calligraphy, and art.
KLCI seeks to create a comfortable environment where students enjoy learning about Korean language and culture. We are located at PS 61 in downtown Manhattan where our students are able to freely use all of the facilities, including the auditorium, gym, cafeteria, and classrooms. Also, all faculty members are licensed or pre-licensed teachers or experts in their area of study. In addition, our very active parents' association is a strong reinforcement for our students' education.
KLCI is sponsored by the New York Society of Korean Businessman, Inc.
